Practical Stabilization and Controllability of Descriptor Systems

Practical stability is of significant practical importance in scientific and engineering problems but less investigated for descriptor systems. In this paper, the concepts of practical stability are developed to descriptor systems based on the idea of the generalized state which stands for the dynamic part of the state. To derive the main results of this paper, a comparison principle is established for descriptor system by using the concept of Lyapunov functions together with the theory of differential inequalities. Then the problem of practical stabilization and controllability of descriptor systems is considered, and some sufficient conditions are derived.
